CAMP is JUNE 14th – 19th, Sunday-Friday
Step into the music industry this summer at the DMI Summer Camp—a five-day, hands-on experience designed for high school students ages 14–18 who are ready to create, perform, and explore their future in entertainment.
Throughout the week, you’ll dive into three exciting career tracks—from songwriting and performance to audio production—while working alongside college faculty and real music industry professionals. You won’t just learn about the industry… you’ll experience it.

The week builds toward an end-of-camp showcase and recording session, where you’ll bring everything together and share what you’ve created.
Whether you’re just getting started or already serious about music, this camp is your chance to level up your skills, build connections, and see what it’s really like to study music industry at the next level.
Spots are limited—register early to secure your place.
This project is supported in part by funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission, a state agency, and in part, from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
Learning & Performance Experiences

Program Cost
- Complete DMI Summer Camp $300
- Application Fee (applies towards tuition) $100
- Includes curriculum, materials, field trips, lodging, and all meals
Audio Engineering Track
Submission Requirements (Audio Samples):
We’re simply looking for your interest in audio and a basic understanding of how it works—you don’t need to be an expert.

Performance Track
Submission Requirements (Performance):
We’re looking for students who have some experience on their primary instrument (voice, guitar, bass, keyboard, or drums). Most applicants have around 2 years of experience, but if you’ve been playing for less time and feel confident in growing your skills, you’re still encouraged to apply.

Submission Requirements (Singer-Songwriter):
This track is for students interested in both singing and writing original music. You don’t need to play an instrument, but you should have a basic feel for melody, lyrics, and performing.
