Rehearsal Room Reservation

The student requesting rehearsal room reservation MUST be a full time DSU student in good academic standing enrolled in DMI coursework and MUST be present at rehearsal. Names of all participants in the rehearsal must be listed on the reservation form. The room includes a sound system and microphones on stands.

Available Hours:

Monday-Friday    5:00pm-11pm

Saturday              9:00am-11pm

Sunday                12:00pm-10pm

Band leader/member/student must complete and submit the information form below to DMI 48 hours or more in advance of rehearsal to secure room reservation. Requests submitted less than 48 hours in advance of the requested start time will not be approved. Requests submitted after 12 pm on Friday will not be processed until the following business day (Monday). A reply to requests is forwarded to the student of record by the DMI Studio/Production Manager (studiomgr@deltastate.edu).

Whitfield 205-A is available for reservation to current DMI students. Any other requests for the use of WH205-A are addressed on an individual basis by the DMI Studio/Production Manager.

Whitfield 205-B is available to B4Y2K, DeltaRox, and Ol’ Skool Revue bands only. Any other requests for the use of WH205-B are addressed on an individual basis by Professor Barry Bays

Students reserving DMI rehearsal rooms are prohibited from propping open exterior doors once inside the building.  Violations of this policy will result in loss of access to the rehearsal space for one semester.

Please be reminded that DMI policy mandates that the student of record must not leave the rehearsal room unattended at any time, no persons should be involved in a rehearsal that have not been listed on the form, and the student of record is responsible for the proper use and security of all equipment. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action and/or fines.

DMI Studio/Production Manager will confirm request by email. Students reserving rehearsal space are responsible for the security of reserved space and all related departmental equipment. If DMI staff or studio managers are not available to lock and secure the building/room at end of reserved time, the student of record is required to contact DSU Police and wait on site until rehearsal room and building is locked.  Should you need to call on DSU Police to lock up, please be courteous and respectful of their time by making a call for closing 20-30 minutes before the end of the rehearsal/session.

OTHER POLICIES:

  • NO food or drink in rehearsal space/studios except bottled water with a screw on cap. NO EXCEPTIONS. 
  • Delta State is a smoke-free campus.  Smoking is prohibited anywhere on university property; this includes vaping.
  • Rehearsing musicians are responsible for their own set up and tear down.
**Failure to observe these policies will result in loss of opportunity to reserve DMI rehearsal space/studios for a prescribed period of time
