Diversity in Performance Series
The Diversity in Performance Series in an annual event at Delta State University created to increase awareness and dialogue about issues of diversity. The focus this year will be on the LGBT community.
Heterosexism: October 28, 2014
In this scene depicting a student group meeting to plan their project, buried tensions erupt into offensive speech and angry accusations. The group blows apart. No work can finish the project until the conflicts are resolved. Once the short scene is played, the audience will ask the characters questions about their actions and choices. Finally, audience members will enter the scene to solve the conflict.
*Actors in this scene will be paid for rehearsal and performance time. Improvisation skills are a must!*

Spoken-word poetry, short plays, personal narratives, and performance ethnography will be performed during this evening of original material collected from playwrights and poets from all over the United States,
