The Delta State University Delta Center for Culture and Learning is teaming up with Airport Grocery and the Crossroads Blues Society to present a night of live Blues at 8 p.m., Thursday, January 14, at Airport Grocery in Cleveland.  A $5 per person minimum donation will help cover expenses of the Crossroads Blues Society’s nominees for the 2010 International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis.

This year, nominations were made in four categories. The ‘Band’ nomination is Mike Holloway and the Crosstie Band. The ‘Solo/duo’ nomination is Alphonso Sanders and Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry. Alphonso Sanders was second place winner at the 2009 IBC. He is also this year’s nominee in the category of ‘Self Produced CD’. The ‘Youth Showcase’ nominee is the Delta State University Ol’ Skool Revue band.

Only Mike Holloway and the Crosstie Band, Alphonso Sanders and Bill Perry will perform on Thursday evening.
