By September 20, 2017

Join Delta State for a free panel discussion exploring community health care in the Mississippi Delta through the lens of Delta Health Center. The program will take place Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. in Caylor Hall room 201.

Panelists will include Dr. Thomas J. Ward, author of “Out in the Rural: A Mississippi Health Center and its War on Poverty” and “Black Physicians in the Jim Crow South.” Joining Ward will be John A. Fairman, CEO of DHC; Robin Boyles, director of program development at DHC; and Dr. Elaine Baker, community member of Mound Bayou and long-time supporter of DHC, who will provide personal experience and insight into racial inequities in healthcare. The event is sponsored by DSU Quality Enhancement Plan with funding from the Mississippi Humanities Council.
