By October 6, 2017Alumni

The 32nd annual Pig Pickin’ weekend kicks off today (Oct. 6) at 5 p.m. with a slate of live entertainment at Statesmen Park.

DJ Howl will take the stage first, followed by the Jason Miller Band at 7:30 p.m. JMB will deliver a southern country rock sound.

The fun continues Saturday with performances on stage throughout the day. Several Delta Music Institute bands will perform, including B4Y2K, Delta Rox and Ol’ Skool Revue. Delta State University President William N. LaForge will also share his musical talents along with his band, President LaForge and the Cabinet.

At 3:30 p.m., the Delta State University Marching Band, Delta State cheerleaders, and the Delta Belles dance team will lead the way for the pre-game pep rally.

While the crowd awaits the judges’ decisions on cooking competition winners, the CE Allstars will take the stage to present a high-energy cheerleading, tumbling and gymnastics show.

After Pig Pickin’ award winners are announced at 5 p.m., tailgaters will be prepping for the 6 p.m. kickoff as the Statesmen take on the University of West Alabama.
