Debra F. Allen

Delta State University’s Robert E. Smith School of Nursing faculty member, Debra F. Allen, was recently elected to serve as president of the Mississippi Nurses Association at the 104th MNA convention held in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The MNA represents nurses through a number of activities, events, programs, forums, workshops, connections and collaborations. MNA is recognized nationally for its successes in working toward solutions for issues affecting the profession of nursing.

The organization works together with staff nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse educators, nurse managers, school nurses and others who share a common interest in improving and advancing their careers and opportunities in the nursing field.

“I am honored to be elected to serve as president of the Mississippi Nurses Association,” said Allen. “I look forward to serving on behalf of the nurses in this state.”

In addition to being elected president of MNA, Allen received the “Nurse Mentor of the Year” from the Mississippi Association of Student Nurses for her outstanding service, leadership and guidance to the Delta State Student Nurses Association.
