Delta State University Continuing Education, in partnership with AirEvac Lifeteam, is offering a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification course for healthcare professionals on February 25 & 26, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Greenville at the Greenville Higher Education Center in Room 215.

The PALS certification course utilizes a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

The course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children, which includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. The PALS certification course can be used for first time certification or re-certification. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn about pediatric advanced life support under the new American Heart Association guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

The (PALS) certification course will meet. Certification cards will be issued for participants who successfully complete this course.

The cost is $20 per person and certification cards will be issued for participants who successfully complete the course.  Pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is Wednesday, February 20.  Interested applicants must contact Marilyn Read in the Office of Continuing Education at (662) 846-4874 or e-mail mread@deltastate.edu.
