Delta State Continuing Education to offer Partners In Education workshop

By October 23, 2012General

Today, most schools, community organizations, and businesses are seeking innovative, effective and sustainable ways to have a positive impact on their local education system and students. Education partnerships have been the most common vehicle for community involvement in education. These partnerships bring positive benefits such as direct financial support, identification of operational efficiencies, and improvements in academic, social, and postsecondary outcomes for youth.

Delta State University’s Office of Continuing Education, in conjunction with State Farm and the Mississippi Partners in Education Association (MAPE), will present a one-day workshop on how to initiate productive, results-oriented partnerships and how to strengthen established programs. The workshop is free and will take place on Thursday, November 8th from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in the State Room of the H. L. Nowell Union on the Delta State campus.  Pre-registration is required and lunch will be provided.

Teachers, school administrators, community leaders, and business owners are encouraged to attend. CEUs and CPUs will be available. Deadline for registration is Monday, November 5.
