The Delta State University Department of Music will present David Stafford in his senior saxophone recital on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
Stafford, a senior saxophone major from Ripley, is the son of Chris and Kristy Stafford. He studies with Dr. Bret Pimentel, assistant professor of music at Delta State University. Stafford first attended Northeast Mississippi Community College where he received an academic excellence award from the Division of Social Sciences. Since enrolling at Delta State in 2010, he has been involved with the DSU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Delta Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Saxophone Ensemble. His accomplishments include acceptance into Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Societies. Stafford is also a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
