Mixon inducted into Delta State University Student Hall of Fame

Lacey Lea MixonLacey Lea Mixon, a nursing graduate from Brandon, was inducted into the Delta State University Student Hall of Fame. Mixon is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Nursing Society and Omicron Delta Kappa, College Republicans, Student Nurses Association, and was a Delta State Student Health Champion. She is a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity, the SGA Executive Cabinet, and Order of Omega.

Mixon is a member of Student Alumni Association and received the Humphrey’s Memorial and Bessie Taylor Nursing Scholarships. She was a member of the Delta State Swim Team (2006-2008) and Soccer Team (2009-2010). She was a junior and senior class favorite, a junior and senior homecoming maid, and was selected Miss Delta State University in 2009. Mixon is a Dean’s List scholar and was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. She is the daughter of Sherry and Stan Mixon.

The Hall of Fame was begun in 1972 to recognize outstanding students. It is the single highest honor bestowed upon any Delta State University student based on outstanding accomplishments in all phases of college life. A maximum of eight students comprise the Student Hall of Fame each year. The selection is made by a committee of students, faculty, and staff appointed by university deans and vice-presidents.

The annual Hall of Fame Banquet and induction ceremony is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association and the Student Government Association.
