Delta State’s Continuing Education to offer audio class

Mike IacopelliDelta State University’s Continuing Education will offer an exciting class that is designed to engage individuals interested in operating sound systems designed for churches, clubs, and other venues. Don’t miss out on the chance to learn from one of the music industry’s best, Mike Iacopelli, as he instructs the Sunday Sound Man: Audio for Non-Professionals class.

Join world renowned recording and mastering engineer, Iacopelli as he provides fundamental instruction in the components and operation of sound systems.  The class will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday June 4, 11, 18, and 25, inside of the Delta Music Institute on the campus. On Wednesday nights June 8, 15, 22, and 29, attendees will travel to various venues in the area to receive hands-on experience.

The cost for the class is $120, which includes the course textbook. The deadline to register is Monday, May 30.

Iacopelli honed his skills in the studios of Detroit where he worked with a diverse list of artists, including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Bishop G.E. Patterson, The Winans, the Tubes, The Four Tops, Albertina Walker, Brides of Frankenstein, Blue Miller, and many more.  He has ten gold and platinum albums to his credit along with a Grammy Award and a 3M Visionary Award.  His audio engineering expertise covers a wide range of settings from record production to Film/TV to studio design to live sound reinforcement.
