Thomson and Taylor to present recital at Delta State

The Delta State University Department of Music will present Brian Thomson in his junior trombone recital and Jessica Elizabeth Taylor in her senior piano recital at 1:40 p.m.,  Thursday, April 21, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.  

Brian ThomsonThomson, a music education major of Greenwood, is the son of Charla Wood and the grandson of Allen and Charlene Wood. He studies with Dr. Douglas Mark, professor of low brass at Delta State.  

Since entering Delta State in 2008, he has been involved with Delta Wind Ensemble, Low Brass Ensemble, New Music Ensemble, Jazz Band, Community Drumming Ensemble and also Delta State Marching Band.  Before attending Delta State University, Thomson studied electric bass and received a certificate of music from the Atlanta Institute of Music.  He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.Jessica Elizabeth Taylor

Taylor, a senior music education major, is the daughter of Tim and Joy Taylor of Batesville. She studies piano under Dr. Jung-Won Shin, assistant professor of piano at Delta State. 

Since entering Delta State in 2007, Taylor has been involved in Chorale, Chamber Singers, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Mu Phi Epsilon Professional Music Fraternity, and Phi Mu Fraternity.  Her honors include Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honors Society, Phi Eta Sigma, and she has been a selected participant in the Department of Music Honors Recital for the past two years.
