The Delta State University Department of Music will celebrate excellence in performance, scholarship, alumni achievement and program support at its annual Honors Recital at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, April 18, in the Delta and Pine Land Theatre of the Bologna Performing Arts Center on the campus.

All performers have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in music courses and are chosen by the music faculty through an audition process.

In addition, three annual awards for the Music Alumnus/a of the Year, for Service and for Philanthropy are announced and presented. New faculty and student members of the Pi Kappa Lambda national music honor society are also recognized.

The event is one of the highlights of the Calendar of Events sponsored and presented by Department of Music each year.

The campus and public are cordially invited to attend. There is no charge for admission, although donations to the Department of Music fund through the Delta State foundation are warmly accepted. For more information, contact Dr. Mark Butler, interim chair of the Music Department, at 662-846-4615.
