Delta State University to take part in the American Lung Association’s Asthma Educator Institute

Delta State University’s Center for Community and Economic Development will be one of three sites in Mississippi to host the American Lung Association’s Asthma Educator Institute April 25-26. The course will provide the latest information on asthma diagnosis, management, and treatment. Participants will also learn and demonstrate the proper techniques for asthma medications and delivery devices. The course is designed to prepare participants to sit for the National Asthma Certification Exam.

Registration is limited to 40 participants and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a $25 refundable deposit required at the time of registration. Deposits will be refunded upon course completion. Applications for continuing education units will be submitted to the American Association for Respiratory Care (Respiratory Therapy) and the Mississippi Nurses Foundation (Nursing) for 12.0 hours.

The institute is funded by the Mississippi State Department of Health, Asthma Program.
