Delta State’s College of Education to host reunion honoring Dave Heflin this Saturday

By March 30, 2011General

Dave Heflin The Delta State University College of Education will host a reunion honoring Dave Heflin this Saturday, April 2, at 5 p.m. in the Forest E. Wyatt Center on campus. In 2008, the Heflin family established the Dave Heflin Professorship. The intent of the professorship is to ensure there will be someone at Delta State to organize outdoor recreation courses such as rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, and kayaking. Todd Davis has fulfilled this vision through his role over the past three years as the Recreation Leadership Program Coordinator.

The reunion is a special event to honor Heflin for his outstanding contributions to outdoor recreation through his many years of expeditions, trips, and adventures.  Participants will have the opportunity to visit with Heflin, hear stories from faculty and former students, and watch a special tribute slide show of past “legendary” trips.  A buffet dinner will be provided. Family, friends, former students, and past adventure trip participants are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Todd Davis at 662-846-4570.
