The Delta State University Department of Music presented Austin White in his junior saxophone recital on Thursday, Oct. 28, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.
White is the son of Glen and Leigh White of Vicksburg. He is a student of Dr. Bret Pimentel, assistant professor of music at Delta State.
Since entering Delta State in 2008, he has been involved and performed with the Delta State Chorale, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble and Saxophone Quartet.
He has competed at both MTNA and MMTA competitions in both solo and ensemble portions, as well as receiving Honors Recital in both spring 2009 and 2010. White is also a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia fraternity.
He performed compositions by Mozart, Bozza, and Muczynski.
