Rehearsal Room and Studio Reservation

The student requesting rehearsal room/studio reservation MUST be a full time DSU student in good academic standing enrolled in DMI coursework and MUST be present at rehearsal/session. Names of all participants in the rehearsal/session must be listed on the reservation form. Equipment requests for the rehearsal/session should be included in the comment box.

Available Hours:

Monday-Friday    3:00pm-6:00pm, 6:00pm-9:00pm, and 9:00pm-midnight

Saturday              9:00am-midnight

Sunday                12:00pm-midnight

Band leader/member/student must complete and submit the information form below to DMI 48 hours or more in advance of rehearsal/session to secure room reservation. Requests submitted less than 48 hours in advance of the requested start time will not be approved. Requests submitted after 12 pm on Friday will not be processed until the following business day (Monday). A reply to requests is forwarded to the student of record by the DMI Studio/Production Manager (

Whitfield 205-B is available to bands in which one or more members in the group is a current member in good standing of one of the DMI bands. Any other requests for the use of WH205-B are addressed on an individual basis by Mr. Barry Bays and/or the DMI Director.

Whitfield 205-A is available for reservation to current DMI students. Any other requests for the use of WH205-A are addressed on an individual basis by the DMI Studio/Production Manager or the DMI Director.

Students reserving DMI rehearsal rooms and/or studio space are prohibited from propping open exterior doors once inside the building.  Violations of this policy will result in loss of access to the rehearsal space/studio for one semester.

Please be reminded that DMI policy mandates that the student of record must not leave the studio unattended at any time, no persons should be involved in a rehearsal/session that have not been listed on the form, and the student of record is responsible for the proper use and security of all equipment. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action and/or fines. 

Rehearsal Room/Studio Reservation Form

DMI Studio/Production Manager will confirm request by email. Students reserving rehearsal or studio space are responsible for the security of reserved space and all related departmental equipment. If DMI faculty/staff/studio managers are not available to lock and secure the building/room/studio at end of reserved time, the student of record is required to contact DSU Police and wait on site until rehearsal room/studio and building is locked.  DSU police provides security for DMI by meeting multiple requests each week.  Should you need to call on DSU Police to lock up, please be courteous and respectful of their time by making a call for closing 20-30 minutes before the end of the rehearsal/session.



Studio walk-in hours are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday for studios not in use by faculty, staff, student coursework, or client sessions. Students must be proficient in the selected studio space to use walk-in hours. Contact the DMI Studio/Production Manager for required documentation of walk-in hours.

NO food or drink in rehearsal space/studios except bottled water with a screw on cap. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

Delta State is now a smoke-free campus.  Smoking is prohibited anywhere on university property.
Rehearsing musicians are responsible for their own set up and tear down. Drummers are responsible for providing their own drum rug to protect floors. Minimal storage space in each room may be arranged between musicians and DMI staff. DMI assumes no risk for personal gear stored in Whitfield. Pick up for stored gear must be arranged through DMI office.
**Failure to observe these policies will result in loss of opportunity to reserve DMI rehearsal space/studios for a prescribed period of time
