Dr. Eddie Lovin has served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Delta State University since July 2021. In this role, he provides executive leadership for the Division of Student Affairs and oversees initiatives designed to enhance student engagement, success, and well-being across the university community.
With more than twenty years of experience in higher education, Dr. Lovin’s professional background includes extensive leadership in enrollment management, residence life, student engagement, and academic advising. Prior to joining Delta State, he served six year as Executive Director of Enrollment Services at Cumberland University, where he also held the position of Director of Residence Life, Greek Affairs, and Orientation for the preceding five years. His previous experience includes service as Residence Life Coordinator at Maryville College and Senior Academic Adviser for Athletics at the University of Mississippi.
Dr. Lovin earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Tennessee State University, a Master of Business Administration from Cumberland University, a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Personnel from the University of Mississippi, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Mississippi.
Originally from Kingston, Tennessee, Dr. Lovin and his wife, Brandi, are active members of the Cleveland community and strong supporters of Delta State’s mission to provide transformative educational experiences for students across the Delta region and beyond. Through his leadership, the Division of Student Affairs remains committed to fostering a vibrant campus culture that promotes academic excellence, personal development, and a deep sense of belonging among all students.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Lovin enjoys spending time with his dog and pursuing his passion for grilling, often sharing his culinary creations with colleagues and friends.
