Student engagement at Delta State University consists of an impactful experience centered on cultural enrichment, social connection, and personal growth. The Office of Student Engagement and Advocacy plays an essential role in bridging the gap between the university and its surrounding community, actively supporting collaborative partnerships, addressing shared challenges, and enhancing mutual learning opportunities. As an intermediary, the office strategically engages with local communities, cultivating mutually beneficial relationships and implementing initiatives to promote student growth and development, as well as community advancement. It also promotes student advocacy by amplifying student voices, addressing concerns, and ensuring equitable access to resources.

They serve as delegates for student engagement and advocacy, playing a key role in welcoming new students, promoting involvement, and supporting campus-wide programs. OKRAtation

OKRAtation at Delta State University is a student-centered orientation program that supports the transition into college life. Led by the Office of Engagement & Advocacy and Statesmen Pioneers, the program covers academic resources, campus safety, financial aid, housing, meal plans, and student involvement. It combines educational sessions with social activities to help students connect, feel supported, and start their DSU journey with confidence.

  Office of Admissions

The Office of Admissions is ready to assist future Statesmen! Our staff works closely with students, counselors, alumni, and the university community. Students interested in taking undergraduate courses should contact the office to discover the steps to becoming a DSU student. We are here to help you!

  Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs seeks to enhance the Delta State University student’s experience by offering programming and services that support the student’s holistic wellness. Our student advocacy focuses on their academic, social, emotional, physical, cultural, moral and mental well-being.

  Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Assistance help meet the financial needs of the Statesmen community. The department assists students with federal and state aid programs, student loans, scholarships, and federal work-study. It also monitors aid awards and provides information on off-campus scholarships.

  Health & Counseling Services

The O.W. Reily Student Health Center offers mental health consultations. The dedicated staff supports the campus community in achieving mental wellness. Confidential counseling is available at no cost to all full-time students. Services also include alcohol and drug prevention information and referrals.

  Registrar’s Office

The Registrar’s Office manages student records and processes transfer credits, transcripts, and graduation applications. Services include course changes, withdrawals, name/address updates, and FERPA guidance. VA students can receive help with tuition assistance and benefit certification.

  Student Business Services

Student Business Services handles billing, collections, refunds, and cashiering for Delta State University. The office also manages the Okra Kard, third-party billing, and MPACT. Staff assist students and families with payments and financial services. The team is committed to efficient, timely, and helpful service.

  Student Success Center

The Student Success Center supports students in navigating college through personalized services. Offerings include academic advising, tutoring, First-Year Seminar, and international student support. The center also manages the Stay Okra Strong (S.O.S.) early alert system.

  University Police

The University Police Department (UPD) promotes safety through law enforcement aligned with university values. The department strives to enhance quality of life on campus. Officers maintain a safe, secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

  University Services

The Office of University Services fosters a safe, supportive environment for student living and learning. The office connects students to campus events and opportunities for growth. With 50+ student organizations, DSU offers vibrant extracurricular involvement.
