NEA Big Read: Lunch and Learn about “Homegoing” and Pre-Colonial West African History

As part of the NEA Big Read: Bolivar County project, a Lunch and Learn with Prof. Maia Elgin Wegmann and Dr. Andrew Wegmann will be held from 12-1 PM. Prof. Elgin Wegmann is an assistant professor of English and teaches “Homegoing” in her World Literature course. Dr. Wegmann is an associate professor of history and teaches African history this semester. They will provide background knowledge and guidance for reading “Homegoing.”

This is open to the campus and general public. NEA Big Read: Bolivar County will provide complementary lunch from Mauldin-Young Cafeteria for the first 40 people pre-registered for the event. People can pre-register at www.deltastate.edu/dei/big-read. After the first 40 attendees, campus and community members are welcome to purchase their lunch and join the event.
