NEA Big Read: Bolivar County – “High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America” Screening – Episode 1

As part of the NEA Big Read: Bolivar County project, a screening of “High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America.” Featured author and historian, Adrian Miller, is in the film, and will be at Delta State University on Monday, February 6.
Episode 1 “Our Roots” (58 minutes) – The hunt for African American food’s roots goes to Benin, where okra and yam rule the market and pre-enslavement fish and corn plates reign at a table.
