Mental Health First Aid training (second option)

September 28, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

MHFA-Flyer-Final-2

The DSU CEHS Cultural Competency Advisory Committee is sponsoring an upcoming opportunity for professional development and enrichment in mental health first aid (MHFA) training. This training is designed to teach skills that can be used with youth and adults. MHFA is just like any other first aid course, such as CPR. It is a skills-based training designed to teach adults how to better understand, recognize, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and crises. The training does not teach participants how to diagnose, instead the training teaches participants how to be “expert noticers” and serves as a bridge to appropriate professional help (i.e. the DSU Counseling Office).

Participants will be required to complete a 2-hour online, self-paced session prior to the in-person 4.5 hour training meeting in the Jacobs Conference Center.
