Guest Lecturer Douglas Bristol

Dr. Douglas Bristol is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Southern Mississippi-Long Beach campus. He is the Co-Director of the Center for the Study of the Gulf South and is a Dale Center for the Study of War and Society Fellow. Dr. Bristol’s talk is entitled “War as Labor: Mechanization, Mobilization, and the Changing Role of Black GIs in World War II” and is a look into his current research on Black GIs in World War II.
