To the DSU family:

By September 22, 2025

We continue to grieve the heartbreaking loss of our friend and classmate, Trey Reed. As a community, we now face the long process of healing together.

Moments like this remind us of the importance of caring for one another. Losing a fellow student is deeply painful, and no one should feel alone.

To provide a space for connection, a Community Table will be available in the cafeteria. This is a place for students, faculty and staff to come together, share a meal, and support one another.

We also encourage anyone who needs additional support to reach out:

O. W. Reily Counseling Center – for all students

Employee Assistance Program – for faculty and staff

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – 24/7 for anyone in need

We do not anticipate further statements or press conferences regarding this tragedy.

Let’s honor the memory of Trey by supporting one another and continuing to embrace our community.
