As shown in the remembrances below, Debi was dedicated to her family and the Delta State community.
I will remember her as a warm and kind person who was ready with an encouraging word and willing to listen. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. – Dr. John Alvarez, Associate Professor of HPER
I’ll miss her infectious smile and laugh! – Ms. Cheryl Ballard, Assistant to the Provost Emeritus
Debi was foremost a wonderful person and a valuable DSU employee. She was so respected at DSU. God Bless Debi Ingram. – Dr. Butch Caston, Former Interim President, Dean Emeritus, and Professor Emeritus of Education
I was saddened to hear of Debi’s passing. She was such a joyful beacon of kindness and could light up a room with her smile and those “laughing eyes.” She will be truly missed. – Dr. Georgene Clark, Assistant Professor Emerita of English
Mrs. Debi was one constant around the Division of HPER for many years. She was a friend to all, a gate keeper, and advocate for our students. She was always helpful and kind to faculty, staff, and students during her tenure in the Division. I have many fond memories of her cutting (caramel) cake for faculty and staff birthday parties. She was a surrogate mom to all of the faculty and staff’s children and had an endless supply of energy and coloring books to entertain them when they came to visit. She will truly be missed. – Mr. Tim Colbert, Former Chair, HPER Department
Debi and I both worked in Kethley Hall together, and she was always so friendly and fun to be around. She loved her job and was always kind and helpful to the students. My prayers go out to her family and friends. – Ms. Debbie Davis, Former Executive Assistant to the President
We were fortunate to have Debi join us in the HPER department, and she was always a joy to work with. Debi always had a smile on her face and kept us all straight. She will definitely be missed. – Mr. Doug Pinkerton, Director Emeritus of HPER Facilities and Operation Programs/PT Instructor
I grew up down the road from Ms. Debi’s family, and I have literally known her my entire life. When I walked in the Registrar’s Office my freshman year here at Delta State, I heard, “Hey, Christy!” and there she stood with the biggest smile on her face and those blue eyes. Again, when I was hired at Delta State, there she stood again and said, “Hey, Christy! Welcome to the DSU family.” We will miss her greatly. – Dr. Christy Riddle, Chief Marketing Officer
She always had a smile on her face. I loved her as a friend and a co-worker, and I really enjoyed working with her in HPER. She was one of the nicest people you ever could meet. After we both retired, I would see her at the grocery store all the time, and we would talk about how much we enjoyed retirement. I am praying for the family. – Mr. Sammy Wilson, Retiree, Facilities Management
