Flags will be half-staff on May 27, from sunrise to noon, then raised until sunset
Memorial Day is a significant day of remembrance for American heroes who sacrificed their lives while serving our country. Established as an official federal holiday in 1971, Memorial Day is a holiday that celebrates and recognizes the soldiers who have given their lives in the line of duty defending the USA. The day takes place on the last Monday each May.
The American flag should be flown at half-staff on Monday, May 27, from sunrise until noon, then raised briskly to the top of the staff until sunset, in honor of the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.
