Delta State’s Kelvin Davis honored with 2024 NACUBO Rising Star Award

DSU’s Kelvin Davis has been awarded the 2024 Rising Star Award by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).

CLEVELAND, Miss. — Delta State University is proud to announce that Kelvin Davis, Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration and Interim Human Resources Director, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Rising Star Award by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). This award recognizes Davis’s exceptional leadership and potential as an emerging executive in higher education finance and business.

Davis has played a pivotal role in managing a broad range of financial operations at Delta State University, including general accounting, grant accounting, accounts payable, procurement, financial reporting, treasury, bursar, payroll, budgeting, and the university’s contracted auxiliaries. As a 2023-24 participant in the NACUBO Fellows Program and an active member of the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO), he has demonstrated a commitment to professional growth and leadership in higher education finance.

“I am deeply honored to receive the 2024 NACUBO Rising Star Award,” Davis said. “This recognition inspires me to continue striving for excellence and innovation in higher education finance.”

The Rising Star Award is given annually to an emerging leader in higher education finance and business who has shown exceptional growth and an increasing level of leadership, responsibility, and impact. The award reflects Davis’s dedication to advancing the field of higher education finance and his potential to shape the future of university financial management.
