The Delta State University flag will fly at half-staff today through sunset on Friday, May 10, in honor of Assistant Professor Emeritus of Art, Marcella Brewer Small, of Cascilla, Mississippi. Mrs. Small passed away on May 3, 2024. She was 83
Mrs. Marcella Small, Assistant Professor Emeritus of Art, taught Art at Delta State for 13 years. Marcella’s passion for art enriched the lives of her students and colleagues throughout her long career. She treasured every moment spent with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the wide circle of people that she considered family, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come. Marcella’s kind heart and unwavering dedication to her family and profession will forever be remembered.
A visitation honoring Mrs. Small will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at the Indianola City Cemetery.
