Zieman inducted into Delta State University Student Hall of Fame

Merideth Whitney ZiemanMerideth Whitney Zieman, a speech and hearing sciences graduate from Monticello, Ark., was inducted into the Delta State University Student Hall of Fame. Zieman served as president of the National Student Speech Hearing and Language Association and is a member of the Delta State University Honors College. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Order of Omega, and Omicron Delta Kappa.

Zieman was a Delta Diplomat, a career services ambassador, and served as student director of the Delta State Orientation Program. She was a Student Government Association senator and member of the election commission. She was a member of the Union Program Council, pageant board student director, and Diamond Girl team captain. Zieman served as president and membership director for Phi Mu Fraternity. She was a Wesley Foundation Leadership Team member and served on the Healthy Campus Community Initiative Advisory Board.

A Dean’s and President’s List Scholar, Zieman was selected to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. She is the daughter of Suzanne and Mike Zieman.

The Hall of Fame was begun in 1972 to recognize outstanding students. It is the single highest honor bestowed upon any Delta State University student based on outstanding accomplishments in all phases of college life. A maximum of eight students comprise the Student Hall of Fame each year. The selection is made by a committee of students, faculty, and staff appointed by university deans and vice-presidents.

The annual Hall of Fame Banquet is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association and the Student Government Association.
