Delta State Brings Home Seven ADDY Awards

Delta State University’s Office of Communications and Marketing brought home seven awards from the America Advertising Federation’s (AAF) District Seven ADDY Awards Ceremony held recently in Greenville. Delta State received two Gold ADDYs, two Silver ADDYs, and three Bronze ADDYs.

Delta State Graphic Designer Laura Walker, Vice President for University Relations Michelle Roberts, Communications and Marketing Director Michael Gann and Photographer Bill Moses were awarded a Gold ADDY in the collateral material series category for the Spring 2010 edition of the Delta State Alumni Magazine. Walker and Jerry Johnson, a student intern graphic designer, also received a Gold Addy in the arts and poster category for their “Out of this World” poster designed for Delta State’s art department.

Delta State Web Writer/Designer Kimberly Cooley was awarded a Silver ADDY for the Delta State Facebook fan page while Walker and Johnson also received a Silver ADDY for their poster “Plantation Mentalities – Sammy O. Cranford Memorial Lecture” designed for the Delta State History Department.

Walker, Gann, and Moses, won Bronze ADDYs for Delta State’s financial aid brochure and admissions print ad. Walker and Student Intern Graphic Designer Casey Williamson received a Bronze ADDY for their “Breathe Easy-Tobacco Free Campus” campaign.

“It is great to have our work recognized by the Mississippi Delta chapter of AAF,” said Gann. “These awards are a testament to the efforts and creative talents of this staff.”

The Office of Communications and Marketing is the public relations arm of Delta State University.
