CLEVELAND, Miss. — The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Omicron Psi Chapter at Delta State University is proud to announce that Jamyia Jones, a senior Psychology/Biology double major from Shelby, has been crowned Miss Black & Gold 2025.

The 22-year-old daughter of Renee Andrews and Kontral Jones, Jamyia is a distinguished student-scholar who exemplifies academic excellence and selfless service both on campus and in the community. A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she lives by the personal philosophy: “Everyone makes mistakes, but it is how you learn from them that shapes your growth as a person.”

Known for approaching every day with purpose, grace, and resilience, Jamyia is deeply passionate about uplifting others and creating meaningful, lasting change through her leadership and service. Her mission is clear and inspiring: to leave every space and every person she encounters better than she found them.
