General
- County and City Data Book [HA 202 .A36 2000 Ref] – Compiled from several federal agencies, this source contains county and city-level statistics on a number of subject areas. Contains recent data from the Census 2000 and the 1997 Economic Census.
- Mississippi Statistical Abstract [HA 465 .A25 Ref] – Published annually, this publication covers nearly all economic and demographic statistical data for the state.
- Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER) – Subject index to all PEER reports. “Created in 1973, PEER provides the Legislature with timely and accurate information on Mississippi state government in order to enable that body to perform its function of legislative oversight. PEER analyzes state agency programs and operations and helps the Legislature make state government more effective, efficient and accountable.” (from PEER FAQ Web page) Several reports contain data on expenditures and financial statements of key agencies such as the department of education, gaming commission, and department of corrections.

- Economics: Forestry Statistics for Mississippi Counties – Forest statistics by acreage, forest type, and ownership.
- MDAC Publications – Access helpful publications such as Mississippi Market Bulletin, Ag Commodity Directory, and others.
- Mississippi Agricultural Statistics Service – MASS offers a great deal of valuable and detailed Ag information: crop production and values and production and price statistics. Data is available both at the county and state level. Some statistics go back to the early 1900s.

- Annual Survey of State and Local Government Finances – This is a resource of the U.S. Census Bureau. According to the website, “this survey is the only source of nationwide, comprehensive local government finance information. It provides statistics on revenue, expenditure, debt, and assets for the 50 states and D.C.”
Health
- County Health Statistics: Mississippi – Lists aggregated data on select health outcomes, health behavior, clinical care, and socioeconomic factors for each Mississippi county. This web site is developed by Forum One Communications, in collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin’s Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) project.

- Mississippi Department of Revenue: Statistics and Reports – On this web page of the Mississippi Department of Revenue’s website, you can access annual reports for the fiscal years 2004 – 2021. Also, there is a “Statistics” column on the right in which you can access statistics in various categories, such as sales tax collections data and gaming tax.
