Library Room and Service Reservation Form

Rooms

  • Study Rooms— For a student or small group of students to have a quiet room to themselves.
  • Bibliographic Instruction Room—  The library maintains an instruction lab (often referred to as the Library Instruction Room) equipped with 20 computers, a projector, and an instructor’s station. This room can be used by DSU librarians, faculty, staff, or non-DSU educational institutions for instructional purposes. To allow flexibility for all interested faculty, the room cannot be scheduled for class meetings for the duration of a semester.

Services

  • Library Tours—  Walking tours familiarize students with the library facility and its resources and services. These tours typically provide a general orientation; however, librarians are happy to cater their presentations to a group’s particular needs or interests.
  • Library Instruction— Library instruction sessions, usually scheduled by a faculty member as part of a regular class period, provide students with an overview of how to find, use, and evaluate information. Librarians work with every instructor to craft these presentations for a particular assignment or purpose. During these sessions, librarians introduce common search strategies and popular library resources that will help meet even the most demanding research needs.
