BPAC Response to COVID-19

To Our Patrons, Annual Members, and Friends:

Delta State University and the Bologna Performing Arts Center (BPAC) have been closely monitoring the developments of COVID-19. While we usually celebrate the fact that the arts bring people together, we are now in an unprecedented time in which being together poses enormous risk.

In response to guidelines from the Mississippi Department of Health and the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and effectively immediately, all events at BPAC through April 30, 2020, will be rescheduled or canceled.

Bologna Performing Arts Center’s Arts Education Receives More than $11,000 in Grant Awards

The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi (CFNM), the Woodward Hines Education Foundation’s fund, Teach for America’s Pitch for a Purpose, and the local Cleveland Walmart have all awarded the Bologna Performing Arts Center’s arts education office programming grants for the upcoming summer and school year to support its ongoing arts education initiatives. Delta State University Receives $32,000 Grant from Phil Hardin Foundation for Spoken-Word Poetry Collaboration between Division of Languages and Literature and Rosedale Freedom Project

Delta State University received a $32,100 grant from the Phil Hardin Foundation to fund an initiative in which undergraduate students in a creative writing poetry class and their faculty member from the Division of Languages and Literature will serve as mentors to middle- and high-school students associated with the Rosedale (Miss.) Freedom Project. The affiliation, called The Spoken Word Freedom Project, will begin in fall 2020 and conclude in spring 2021.  Read More
