1.11.21 Update: Night Classes to Meet Virtually

Students enrolled in a night class scheduled to begin, Monday, January 11, will meet virtually, not in the classroom. Please open your course page in Canvas for meeting details.

1.10.21 Update: Winter Weather Advisory/Remote Work Extended

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Northwest Mississippi that is in effect from tonight through midday Monday. According to the NWS statement, an accumulating snow and wintry mix of 2 to 4 inches is expected in the ArkLaMiss Delta, with Bolivar County projected to receive up to 2 inches of snow. The conditions will create slick spots on roadways, mainly on bridges and overpasses. Those is affected areas should be prepared for slippery roads and use caution while driving.

Out of an abundance of caution, Delta State University has extended “work from home” for faculty and staff through Monday, January 11, 2021. At this time, employees are expected to return to work at their designated on-campus location on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. 

University administration will continue to monitor this evolving weather event. Updates and notifications of campus status will be available at www.deltastate.edu, the university’s Facebook page (facebook.com/deltastateuniversity), Twitter account (@deltastate) and through the Okra Alert Emergency System. Or, you can call (662) 846-4155 for updates. 

Decisions regarding scheduled athletic events will be posted on the Delta State Athletics website (www.gostatesmen.com) and social media outlets.
