Delta Area Association for Improvement of Schools

The primary purpose of DAAIS is to provide services and professional development opportunities for personnel of member schools, as well as curricular and enrichment opportunities for their students.

DAAIS is a regional consortium of educational institutions in the geographic region known as the Mississippi Delta.

Oct. 23, 2025 – For Teachers -AIM Pathways to Proficient Reading Cohort 39 – Cleveland – Pathways to Proficient Reading is an IDA-accredited foundational course in the science of reading, designed for educators committed to learning about the connection between reading research, theoretical models such as the Simple View of Reading and Scarborough’s Reading Rope, and best practices for language and literacy instruction in the classroom.

Oct. 24, 2025 – DAAIS Curriculum Roundtable – Monthly roundtable for curriculum personnel.

Oct. 24, 2025 – Making it Stick : Engaging and Impacting Student Learning – This 5 hour training will cover a variety of core subject areas and artistic disciplines. It is primarily a session for K – 8th grade educators, but these lessons can even be adapted for higher or lower education.

Dec. 3-5, 2025 – MS Literacy Association: Making a Splash with Literacy – This Registration is only for the Lead Presenter. The Mississippi Literacy Association, in collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Education Office of Curriculum and Instruction, Division of Literacy, invites you to attend the 54th Annual Mississippi Literacy Association Conference: Making a Splash with Literacy. This year’s conference will be held December 3rd through December 5th, 2025, at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. The event will focus on strengthening literacy instruction for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
