Dr. Joseph M. Lane has served as Assistant Professor of Geography and Sustainable Development and Assistant Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Geospatial Information Technologies at Delta State University since 2018. In this capacity, he acts as outreach coordinator and informal geographic education specialist, he reports directly to the center’s director; Mr. Talbot Brooks. Dr. Lane teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducts research and development activities, and assists with the geographic education outreach.

Dr. Lane received a B.S. in Human Geography from Aquinas College (Grand Rapids, MI), an M.S. in Applied Geography from Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, MI), and a Ph.D. in Science Education from Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, MI).
