November 10 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
|Held in concert with the Unviersity’s Homecoming events, this program invites the public to honor and celebrate our veterans.
A complimentary light breakfast buffet is sponsored by the DSU National Alumni Association and hosted by members of the Dedicated Statesmen Association at 8:30 am. The program will begin promptly at 9:00am.
This year’s program features guests performances by program co-coordinator, Beverly Card, accompanied by pianist, Ric Grant; Bayou Academy’s Bayou Blues group under the direction of Anne Marie Myers; DSU’s Chorale conducted by Gillian Oakley and accompanied by Sung-Eun Ryu; and bugler Andrew Ladd returns to perform Reveille. In addition to the musical performances, guest readers will once again give voice to the hundreds of letters written by former students, faculty and staff of Delta State who served their country from World War II, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam and Dessert Storm, to name a few. These letters and oral histories are a permanent record held at the University Archives inside the Charles W. Capps, Jr. Archives & Museum building.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early as the access to seating requires that guests cross the stage area.
This event is free and open to the public.
