Greek Life Recruitment
DSU Panhellenic Council
Sorority Membership Recruitment Week for Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta, and Phi Mu is one week concentrating on potential members becoming acquainted with the sorority system. The week begins with NPC recruitment orientation on August 9, 2014 and with sororities offering bids for membership on August 13, 2014. Students participating in the week’s activities will be allowed to move into their assigned university housing the morning that recruitment activities begin, no earlier than 10:00 am. The first official Recruitment activity begins at 2:00 pm on August 9, 2014.
Each activity planned helps potential members and sorority members acquaint themselves with one another. During recruitment functions, potential members will visit with sorority members. Presentations also provide information about each sorority’s activities and expectations. As the week progresses, the parties become more serious. The skits and laughter fade into ceremonies and quiet songs. Here the potential member gets a glimpse of the true importance of sorority life.
Any regularly enrolled woman at Delta State University who is neither on social nor scholastic probation and is properly registered for membership recruitment is eligible for participation. Each individual sorority has its own minimum scholastic requirements to consider in the selection process. These are not publicized.
Women interested in NPC Membership Recruitment week must register online. The online registration form will be available on the DSU Website under “Student Life”, then “Greek Organizations”, and finally under “Recruitment”.
