Our guest chamber ensemble, The USMA-West Point Trombone Quartet, is well known and highly regarded for their dynamic and energetic performances. Members of the West Point Band are world-class professional musicians who serve as support personnel for the student cadets of the Academy. The ensemble is considered one of the premier musical units of the United States Military. In addition to their responsibilities in the band, the trombone quartet regularly performs at both military and civilian events around the country, including many education tours at schools and universities.

Mr. Hartman and members of the USMA-West Point Trombone Quartet will lead the participants through a series of interactive activities including group warm-ups, trombone choir rehearsal, masterclasses, panel discussions, recitals and direction of a large “en-masse” trombone choir performance of all participants.

DSU Trombone Day will provide a unique learning experience to a number of different constituents. Participants will be engaged throughout the day with activities that will require listening, thinking and playing. In addition to serving Delta State students, this event will bring together students from regional high schools, community colleges and other four-year institutions, as well as trombone players of all ages. Join us for some world-class performances!

The concerts at 11:30 and 3:30 are free and open to the public, however, clinic participants will be assessed a registration fee, which will be used to help defray costs.
