Breast Cancer Awareness Bake Sale

| The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and funding for Breast Cancer. 10% of all proceeds with be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The project of interest will be that of Komen Scientific Advisory Board Member, Dr. Lisa Newman. Currently she is studying why women of African descent are more likely to be diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), compared to Caucasian women. Her main focus covers whether shared ancestry, how people migrate through countries, reproductive patterns, and genetics may contribute to the development of specific subtypes of TNBC, with the goal of understanding root causes and improving outcomes. |
