DSU 94th Anniversary: Dedication and Service—on Sept. 16

By September 9, 2019

The public is invited to mark the occasion of the 94th anniversary of students beginning their academic journey at Delta State on Monday, Sept. 16 at noon in the Lena Roberts Sillers Chapel.

As with the annual celebrations in the past, the theme this year is to recognize the dedication and service of the town-and-gown relationship. Hosts of the anniversary program, the Dedicated Statesmen Association, selected Mrs. MaryAnn Davis and Mrs. Rebecca Austin as representatives of this theme. Family and friends of these two women will share their memories and reflect on the lives of dedication and service Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Austin lived.

The Lena Roberts Sillers Chapel has also been adopted as a project area for the Dedicated Statesmen Association. While it is a work in progress, several updates have been made and guests are invited to examine the plans for the continued refurbishments as well as learn how they can support the future re-invigoration of this historic building to campus.

Refreshments will be served in the chapel gardens following the program.

This event is free and open to the public.
