The Delta State University Department of Music will present Catheryne Booth in her senior euphonium recital at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, in the recital hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.
The event will also be streamed live on the department’s Facebook page.
A senior music education from Grenada, Miss., Booth has been involved in the DSU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band, Pep Band and Low Brass Ensemble since entering Delta State in 2017.
In 2018, she traveled with the Department of Music to perform in Busan, South Korea.
Booth placed first in the 2018 Mississippi Young Artist-Brass Division of the Music Teacher National Association competition and second place as a euphonium and saxophone duet during the 2020 DSU Chamber Ensemble competition.
She is a member of the National Association for Music Education, Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society, and the DSU Honors Program
A student of Dr. Douglas Mark, Booth will perform compositions by Franz Schubert, Dave Werden, James Grant, Joseph Horowitz and Anthony O’Toole.
