Rotary Club of Cleveland President Sean Wessel presents a $1,500 check to Dr. Lori Spencer, director of prospect development of the Delta State University Foundation, on Dec. 11, 2019.

Delta State University Foundation received $1,500 from the Rotary Club of Cleveland on Dec. 11, 2019, for a scholarship. The giving honored Milton Burd, a notable local Rotarian who also has supported Delta State since 1992.

“The Cleveland Rotary Club is proud to have such a strong relationship with Delta State University,” said Sean Wessel, club president. “Our club membership is made up of a number of Delta State employees who are active and contribute greatly to our club’s success here in Cleveland, and we are thrilled to have worked with and supported DSU for the last 25 years. We are excited to be able to honor one of our long-standing Rotarians, Milton Burd, by establishing the Cleveland Rotary Club Scholarship at DSU.”

Dr. Lori Spencer, director of prospect development at the DSU Foundation, said, “This gift is a perfect measure of genuine care for our students and what Delta State has to offer this community and abroad. Thank you, Cleveland Rotary Club.”
