Fireside Chat – April 15, 2019 – Opportunities with Career Services

Joining President LaForge is Nakikke Johnson, Director of Career Services.

At this time of the semester, our graduating students are figuring out what they’ll do after commencement, while all of our other students are making summer plans. From August 2018 to March 2019, Delta State’s Office of Career Services assisted approximately 500 students with preparing their resumes and cover letters, coaching them on professionalism and the interview process, and serving as a liaison between them and employers through the Statesmen Connect job portal, career events, and internships. Here are other numbers about Delta State’s Office of Career Services:

  • 10 DSU students a day get help from the Office of Career Services, on average.
  • 9,804 DSU students and alumni are registered on the Statesmen Connect online job-posting portal.
  • There are 1,537 registered employers in Statesmen Connect and 1,995 registered employer contacts.
