Delta State University hosted the Chickasaw Council Merit Badge College on Jan. 4-5, continuing a longstanding relationship between the area Boy Scouts of America and the campus.

For the first time, scouts and leaders had the option to camp and have fun at the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi the evening before taking merit badge classes.

The classes occurred in the morning, afternoon, or all day on Saturday, Jan. 5 and ranged from art to electricity, robotics to law, automotive maintenance to veterinary medicine, crime prevention to life saving, and citizenship in the nation to citizenship in the world.

Other activities during the event included scavenger hunts and a performance by singer/songwriter Sam Mooney, an Eagle Scout who hails from Brookhaven, Miss.

The Chickasaw Council provided these photos from the gathering.
