The Delta State University Department of Music presents Patricia Thomas in her senior voice capstone recital April 17  at 1:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The performance is free and open to the public.

Thomas, a senior voice major from Greenville, is the daughter of Casonda Thomas and Paul Griffin. She studies with Dr. Chad Payton. Since entering Delta State in 2008, she has been involved with DSU Chorale, Delta Singers, Chamber Singers, DSU Marching Band, DSU Pep Band, DSU Steel Band, DSU Opera and DSU Community Drumming and Dance Experience. She has performed with the DSU Choral at Carnegie Hall under the direction of conductor and composer Eric Whitacre. Thomas is also involved with Mu Phi Epsilon and a servant team member with the DSU Wesley Foundation.

Thomas will present a lecture about the historic Lincoln Memorial Concert of Civil Rights and activist Marian Anderson, and she will sing the repertoire of that event.
