The Delta Players will present Columbinus on April 21-24 in Jobe Auditorium.

The Delta Players will present a production of Columbinus on April 21-24 at 7:30 p.m. in Jobe Hall Auditorium on the campus of  Delta State University.

Nominated for a number of prestigious awards, Columbinus explores the adolescent experience of navigating the social pressures of high school, as well as the events surrounding the 1999 Columbine School shooting.

This performance is recommended for mature audiences due to strong language and emotional content. The production is free for faculty, staff, and students, and $5 for the community.

Delta Players consists of performers and crew members dedicated to presenting a variety of theatrical genres for Delta State University. The program is based on the premise that most students will be involved in secondary or community theatre programs after graduation.

Delta State’s theatre arts program concentrates on providing as much experience as possible in the study and presentation of appropriate materials in comedy, drama and musical theatre. Each semester, open auditions are held campus wide for students interested in acting roles. Stage crew positions in set construction, lighting, sound, make-up and hairstyling, or costuming are selected not only from theatre majors but also from students majoring in other areas as well. Collaboration from faculty and students from the Art Department, Delta Music Institute and Fashion Merchandizing has provided the excellent designs in set, sound and costuming.
