This fall, Delta State University’s College of Business will introduce three new emphases in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program including Human Resource Management, Health Care Administration, and Information Systems Management. Each emphasis is 12 hours in addition to 18 hours of required core courses for the degree.
The Human Resource module will integrate human resource concepts through a study of performance appraisal systems, effective personnel development, the theory and practice compensation management, and the effect of alternative wage and salary systems on employee performance, and current legislation.
The Health Care Administration module will integrate the concepts of strategic planning within the health care industry that will include core business principles and practices of health care issues to prepare students effectively to manage health care organizations.
The Information Systems module will integrate the knowledge and skills in data warehousing and data mining technologies required for solving complex problems of data and information management, information retrieval, and knowledge discovery facing modern organizations.
The MBA program is offered identically in both a traditional and an online format. The traditional program offers individual evening and selected online courses that students can take at their own pace. The online program, or integrated MBA (iMBA), is offered in three modules which are completed in one year.
